An Introduction to Wrongful Convctions


According to their website, the Innocence Project, “a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals” reports: “studies that have been done estimate that between 2.3% and 5% of all prisoners in the U.S. are innocent.”  There are currently 2,418,352 prisoners in the United States prison system, allowing for the conclusion that there are between 55,622 and 120,917 people currently behind bars for crimes they did not commit.

This blog with feature the stories of those who have been wrongfully convicted, interviews with those affected, and provide a look into how countless innocent people have ended up behind bars.
